The Food Life, a cross sectoral partnership of growers, farmers, processors, retailers, restaurants, chefs and food trucks with community groups, public sector and voluntary sector are attempting to join up the food system in Angus. We are registered with the Financial Conduct Authority as a Community Benefit Society no 7510, a business structure democratically owned by its members and designed to benefit the wider public.

Anne Thomson, Chair of The Food Life & MD of Ella Drinks & Bouvrage Local produce activist, Anne has been producing delicious juices from fruits grown in Angus for decades. Harvesting heritage apples which would normally be wasted and our wonderful soft fruit, Anne creates juices with no sugar, additives or preservatives. Anne has devoted much time to helping businesses, citizens and growers access local food. |
Derek Harper, Rejuvenate & Eden Project Community Activist Derek is a community facilitator with Rural Wisdom who has a wide range of working experience in the Brechin community but importantly has found great purpose and success in volunteering and leading community progress. Derek wants to share as widely as possible how food can be that catalyst to connect so much in a community and spark positive change. |
Stephanie Cessford, Angus Horticulture Steph currently works at Angus Horticulture Ltd, although her background is in ecology research. Her husband is an arable farmer and she has a great respect for those who spend their lives working the land and producing food. She is passionate about the environment, health, good food, community and sustainability and believes these things are intrinsically linked. |
